We are looking for a detail-oriented Tax Preparer to support individual income tax filing needs for a Contract position based in South Orange County, California. This part-time opportunity offers a flexible schedule of 20 to 30 hours per week and is expected to continue on a contract basis through at least the designated assignment end date. The person in this role will manage personal tax returns from initial document review through final preparation while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable tax standards.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare individual federal income tax returns from beginning to completion, ensuring all filings are accurate and ready for submission.

• Review and incorporate client tax documents such as Schedule K-1s, 1099 forms, W-2s, and records of charitable donations into completed returns.

• Analyze supporting financial information to identify relevant tax details and apply them appropriately within each return.

• Complete an expected daily workload of approximately three to six individual tax returns while maintaining quality standards.

• Use GoSystem Tax Software to prepare, update, and finalize tax filings efficiently.

• Communicate clearly regarding missing documentation or needed clarifications to keep return preparation moving forward.

• Prior experience preparing individual tax returns, including full-cycle completion of Form 1040 filings.
• Strong working knowledge of common tax documents, including K-1s, 1099s, W-2s, and charitable contribution records.
• Hands-on proficiency with GoSystem Tax Software is required.
• Ability to manage a part-time workload independently in a fully remote work environment.
• Solid understanding of individual income tax rules and careful attention to detail.
• Capability to produce accurate work within deadlines while handling multiple returns each day.
